Has anybody done the "Cheers" program on carnival?

My main question is it worth it?
"The cost to pre-purchase CHEERS! prior to your cruise is $51.95 USD per person, per day plus 15% gratuity."

A few ways to look at it.
At that price you need to drink (on avg) about 9 beers or 6-7 mixed drinks. Now, if you're drinking a specialty coffee once per day, a couple bottles of water and maybe a coco water in the afternoon you don't have to drink as much alcohol to come out ahead. If you think you're close the convenience factor shouldnt be ignored.
Want to try the drink of the day, do it. Spill your drink, who gives a shite.
But, at times you'll feel like you're drinking BECAUSE you have the package..it's impossible to not think about it. Everyone wants to get "their money's worth".
Factor in how man port days you have and what you plan on doing on those port days....if you''re going to Cozumel I'd say skip Mr Sanchos or Nachi Cochum and maybe find a resort like Paradise Beach which isn't an all inclusive since you've already paid for your booze on board. If you're cruise has 3 ports and each one is a booze cruise or drinking type excursion it's going to be harder to come out ahead.

Depends on how much you drink. Beers will run 8.00 and up and mixed drinks are more than that. We didn’t do it because we had three stops. We came out ahead at the end not getting back it. Also each person can bring a case of sodas and one bottle of champagne.

Got the cheers program on a bachelor party I went on a 4-day cruise for. I hit my 15 only one day and was so tired of drinking by the end I didn't even drink the final day. You definitely will be trying to get your money's worth. On the other hand, there's not much to do on a Carnival ship.

DOn't forget you will be off the boat some days so the time to drink will be shorter those days.

What kind of beer are you drinking that's $8?! Beer on Carnival ships are around $6.
I've done the Cheers package once and I'll do it every time. I like the mixed drinks which are around $8.75 a piece. After 6 of them, I've already got my money's worth. Even on port days, I'll still get to 6 drinks most likely. Now if you drink just beer, it might not necessarily be worth it because you have to drink around 8-10 in order to get over the $50-ish a day.
Another added benefit is it includes all soda as well. So you don't have to worry about bringing on your own.
A negative though is everyone 21 and over in a stateroom has to get the package. If one person doesn't want it, then nobody can get it.
Just comes down to which drinks you like in my opinion. On a sea day, sitting around the pool and relaxing, drinking at your own pace and not having to worry about how much you're spending makes it worth it. One day I tried to get all the way to the 15 drink limit and I got smashed and it was not worth it lol

I drank 15 everyday but then they wouldn’t let me buy more. It was tough on the days at port but i pulled through.

I think that it's worth it on a short 4 or 5 day. A shot of Roca Patron is $16.50. Alchemy Bar drinks $10.95. You can get your money's worth pretty quick. On port days you need to work harder at it. If you're going to drink beer then Cheers probably isn't the way to go.

I've done it and would do it again in a heartbeat. I never went over my limit, but came close a few days. One of the days I almost went over was actually a port day where I got off the boat.
The main advantage for me was being able to order whatever I wanted without worrying about the price. Hung out in the red frog rum bar and tried a very nice selection of 10+ year old rums.
Even on the light drinking days toward the end, it was nice to order and not have to worry.

Jesus. Which ship were you on? I'm not able to get anywhere close to doing everything on a Vista or Dream class ship.
Price out what you think you might drink and go from there. You can bring one 12 pack of soda per person on board with you and prepurchase bottled water in the online Fun Shops for $6 per 6 pack.

Same here, you also need to realize everyone in your room over 21 has to purchase it. The last cruise the wife and I went we didn't get it, went on a 7 day and together our liquor bill was about $450, we drank socially.
Your first day is when you drink the most, port days you wont hardly drink at all on the ship, you'll be tired from being at port day doing excursions and stuff. Last day on the ship you get off before 11 so not much time to drink there either.
