Thinking about a trip in mid-July...do we think that flying will have picked back up some by then?

July schedules on airlines were just updated within the last weekend or two. They may have day of cancellations for flights with low load factors but as of now they're pretty much set

Friend,

I hope the mask restriction becomes permanent for flying commercially. Seems every time I have flown I catch a cold. Before this pandemic I tried wearing my N99 onboard but security said I couldn’t cover my face. I plan on using that N99 and goggles for every flight.

Yours,

I hate to disagree but I hope it becomes an optional thing. I’ve never gotten sick flying and flying to Africa last summer as well as Puerto Rico would have been awful trips in that respect.

Stay well!

I have three flights scheduled for three consecutive weeks in July.

What's that? Is that better than an N95?

TulaneLSU,
Just cause you seem to have a really weak immune system doesn’t mean we should all have to wear a mask.

From what I've been reading, it seems like the big 3 US carriers are currently requiring a mask to be worn when boarding the flight, but they've all instructed their flight attendants not to 'enforce' that a mask be worn while the plane is in flight.

I think this is largely from an optics perspective right now. I don't see them officially going to a mask optional stance any time in the near term. They would get blown up from a PR perspective.

All I know is this shite sucks. There are rather common routes/airports that I can't even get to on my two preferred airlines without 2+ stops, overnight connections, or 8+ hour layovers.

Mask option should go away after a vaccine is developed.

N95 IS 95%
N99 IS 99%

N99's fit tighter to the face.

DAL - LAS coming up on June 26. Can't wait regardless of any restrictions and mask wearing they have in place. Just ready to travel!
