Tallahassee has quite a few good eats, and there is the museum of Florida History which is really cool. There are some good breweries there too that are kid friendly.

Lake City is your best answer. Right after you start heading south after you get off 1-10. Plenty of restaurants and a hotel pool does the trick for kids. Then wake up early and have an easy drive to Orlando.

Going to Orlando in November and thinking about driving. I would prefer to fly, but tickets would be around $3,500. Leaving from Lafayette it as about 11 hours. Any suggestions on good place to stop for the night that may have something interesting to check out with the kids? Maybe must stop restaurants?

Do you have 10 kids?

2 kids, 4 travelers total.

Leaving the 23rd or 24th of November but have to be there for 4:00 PM on the 24th at the latest. Come back any time between 29th and Dec. 1st.

I am assuming the price is high due to Thanksgiving.

You can fly spirit out of MSY for 197 per traveler. Spirit sucks but I'd take that over driving 12 hours each way all day.

Dude- the drive is a breeze. Leave at 5 am, stop for a nice lunch, get to Lake City early for a check in. Swim at the pool. Wake up early and have a short drive to Orlando, get into your hotel, they can hold your bags while you check out a park or spend the day exploring. A perfect family experience. The drive makes it more memorable.
