Going for business. Where to stay, eat?

Other things to do in downtown? I will be there four days.

If you really need to be in downtown, the Candler Hotel just opened and looks great. There is a Ritz downtown and your normal selection of full-flag hotel brands.

Downtown is improving but still isn't really a hotspot for dining. There is a ton of business/convention traffic down there so you'll find enough to eat/do, but if you have flexibility Midtown will offer more interesting options.

Avoid downtown— it’s. A dump.
Stay midtown or Burkhead

Is midtown safe?

Would a relatively short 11:00pm walk from the Fox Theater to Crown Plaza Hotel be safe enough? Or should I be strapped?!

thats like a 5 minute walk, you'll be fine. There are obviously areas you wouldn't want ot be walking at that time but you shouldnt' have any problems right there. You may see a bum or have someone ask you for change, but unless that seriously bothers you you have nothing to worry about.
