Any of ya'll hire one of these while you are out of town? Used the Rover app?

How much would you pay a teenager to stop by twice a day and let the dogs out/feed them etc?

i paid like $35 a day which i thought was a bit high for a girl to come let the dog out and feed him about 3 times a day. she probably spent a total of 10-15 minutes total at the house with my dog.

We've used Rover in the past and never had an issue. Usually about $35-40 per dog per day, but we have the person actually stay at our house with them, so it would probably be a bit less to just have someone walk and feed them.

$25-35 a day and I let my dog stay at their house. I try to find someone who works from home or who is retired.

Know people who have used Rover who had bad experiences.

GF has been doing pet sitting/visiting/walking for a number of years. All by referral/word of mouth Her and about 6-8 of her friends get:

$25/visit or walk

Overnights at pet's house goes for $65/night to $100/night depending on number of animals. None of them take pets into their own homes, feeling that stresses pets out and takes them out of familiar surroundings. They have more business than they can handle.

Cat sitter gets paid $15/day to visit 2x a day...she feeds, scoops the litterbox, brushes/pays attention to them for about 10 mins per visit. This allows them to eat according to their usual schedule, minimizing disruption & reducing stress. We can leave for 10-12 days, and they barely notice b/c the food appears according to the usual routine.
