We went two years ago with an 8 year old and 2 year old. Had a great time. Christmas Day we were at Epcot and they had a nice Christmas musical. We arrived on the 20th and left on the 26th. The weather was great. Christmas Day MK reached capacity.

Drank around the world at Epcot. The German restaurant for lunch was good. With a beer flight.

I'd go back at Christmas. We did the Mickey's Christmas party at MK one night and they closed the park to those who didn't have tickets to the party so we were able to do a lot more.

I’m at Disney this week. Here’s the thing: there is no such thing as a hack to scheduling for a dead week. The higher ups are not stupid. When they are usually dead, Disney schedules events to fill the parks up. This week for instance, they had some cheer competition and the Pop Warner Super Bowl, as well as the Gary Sinese Foundation (anybody wearing a shirt had an unlimited fast pass to every ride.) You may get lucky every now and then, but you’re not gonna “out-expert” Disney.

Talked about this with a cast member this week. Another thing they do is offer incentives to certain foreign countries where they are on break right now (during what used to be traditional “dead periods”.

I leave tomorrow. Told the woman I am bringing to be ready to be disappointed as she is big on the crowd calendar thing.

Pretty much this. Xmas time is the worst though and it's hard to enjoy with the crowds IMO especially if your time is limited. Plus fat people on scooters.

The scooters are definitely out of control. And the way those people act, you’d swear they were severely handicapped and should open up a red carpet for them everywhere they go.

I was only at disney springs today and saw that. Even the strollers are a bit much. No reason to have a stroller for three kids in a store. One parent needs to stay outside while the other shops

This past week, the standby time for the popular rides were average about 45 minutes (except Avatar which was about an hour). The new Star Wars ride Rise of the Resistance - you had to be in the park at 6:30 to even think about setting a booking to ride it, which lots of folks did apparently because I showed up at 8:30 a couple of times and no dice. I didn't find it too bad. We used our fast passes but waited in standby a few times and the lines moved at a steady pace. It was definitely not to where you could ride a ride and then run right back and ride it again with no wait. At no time was it like that.

I imagine Guardians of the Galaxy and Tron will be the same once those open up. Will be crazy for a few years and then will be normal with the wait times.

My son was swinging a lightsaber in the Disney store and knocked an ornament to the ground, crashing into a million pieces.

I agree though. Park your damn stroller and walk the kids around. And this is coming from somebody with a 5 and and an 8 year old.

We got rained on leaving Universal tonight. If anyone is planning to do star wars, they are opening the doors st least a half hour early. DO NOT have your app open to get your boarding group. Scan everyone into the park and then open your app. I was middle of the pack and had group 41. Went to smugglers run first and then had breakfast at gogo's cantina. No reservations needed. After the first hour reservations are a must

My family meets at Disneyworld almost every year, the one thing I veto is going around Christmas.

I did it once, never again. There are just too many people there.

Honestly don’t expect to get into Star Wars. We plan on getting there at opening and if we get a boarding group we get a boarding group.

jmarto, what time did the park open and what time did you get there to get a boarding group?

From what I see, the park opens at 7am and I was planning on getting in line about 30 minutes early. Don't know if I need to get there earlier or not. Your thoughts?

I got there at 530 and they opened at 630. They are opening the park thirty minutes to an hour early. I was middle of the pack and got a boarding group of 41. Raced to smugglers run, got into the cantina without a reservation, and shopped before my group was called.

We got to the park Tuesday at 6:30. By the time we made it through the entrance, etc., we were boarding group 70 and rode at around 2:30.
