Any of you ever been before? I’m traveling there there this week. Any advice? I hear it has good views and gambling.
I’m also going to make the short drive to mt. Rushmore.

Went a few years ago with the wife. Had a great time walking around what I can only assume is called the strip. It’s definitely dated, but I think that’s what makes it cool. Food ehh, casinos ehh, but people and outside scenery are great.
Mt. Rushmore was cool, but was over it in about 20-30 minutes. Reading some of the info inside the little museum was very interesting though.
Also went horseback riding in Spearfish (which is nearby) which was a lot of fun.
Biggest suggestion if you have the time is to ride through the Badlands. Amazing.
Enjoy your trip.

I've finally gotten around to watching the TV show from a few years back.....good show. I was in the Black Hills a few years ago and its a beautiful place. We stayed in Custer but drove all through the Black Hills. Had to stop several times until the Bison crossed the road in some places. Also went out to the Badlands which I thought was just ok but everyone else seems to love it. Mount Rushmore was pretty meh too.

If you go through Custer, have a burger at the black hills burger and bun company.
Spearfish canyon is a beautiful drive.
Kevin Costner opened a Buffalo attraction called Tatanka that is worth a visit too.
Deadwood is cheesy and touristy, but pretty cool.

This man knows what he's talking about. The Hot Granny and fried cheese curds are where it's at.

That place was recommended to us my my in-laws who live up there and I didn't believe any burger would be worth a trip.
It was outstanding.
