I just started doing some research for my wife and I to do a vacation during Mardi Gras this year. My question is: All Inclusive or Norwegian Cruise?

Norwegian Cruise with a balcony for a 7 day with an open bar and $100 on board credit $2,800. 7 days seems like a long time though

All Inclusive in Mexico would be about the same but you have two days of travel which I hate. No nonstop flights from New Orleans

Here's another kicker. My wife will be pregnant

Any tips or advice is appreciated

We have done the Norwegian, cruises are funner with a group than a couple, but they tend to be run and gun and not bery relaxing. The AYCD with Norwegian is legit, but your wife won't get anything from that if she is pregnant.

Better cross reference both itineraries for Zika warnings.

Norwegian
Pregnant Women: Norwegian will make every effort to accommodate you, providing you will not enter the 24th week of pregnancy at any point during the cruise. Please include your cruise details in an email to the Access Desk (accessdesk@ncl.com) with a medical certificate establishing your due date prior to your cruise.

Yea she wouldnt be at the 24th week yet.

I just feel like an all inclusive is a waste when she cant drink. Plus all the time flying

Then, I wouldn't do either. If she is far enough along, her doctor will tell her not to go too far away anyway.

Mexico still has ZIKA warnings, and the last thing you want is a pregnant woman on a boat.

Just head to Gulf Shores and people watch.

I agree neither is ideal for a pregnant woman, for multiple reasons.

I'm going to mexico the week of mardi gras and flying direct out of MSY on Delta. Flight leaves at 8:25am and lands 11:19am. Return flight is direct as well. I believe they only go direct on saturdays.

ETA: I wouldnt do a cruise. That $2800 will double.

How much does she actually drink? Just saying my wife would drink maybe $25/ day worth of booze at most. I would disagree here if you are going somewhere decent. All inclusives are for more than just simply free booze.

You have plenty of options in Mexico or the Caribbean to go to a resort area that's not all inclusive too.
