Planning a Father Daughter dive trip for March.

Can anybody recommend a resort in Cozumel that is 4-5 star with a beach and a good dive operation on site please?

I have never been there and my head is swimming with all the possibilities. Do want a larger resort with a beach please.

Many thanks!

There are ton of great dive ops on the island. Last time that I was there we used Aldora and stayed at there villa which is a little north of town (close to the airport). The dive op was first class. Fast boats, english speaking, and they use larger tanks so our average bottom time was around 1.20/hrs. During the surface interval they beach the boat at a beach side restaurant which was nice for a cheap lunch. The villa had a small man made beach and decent snorkeling out front and free shore diving. Rooms were clean with plenty of hot water. Blue Angel is another popular dive op/lodging combo. I would not do an all inclusive. Part of the joy about Cozumel is getting out and trying all the cheap local food. We walked all over town and never felt unsafe. Check out scubaboard forums they have an entire forum dedicated to Cozumel.

Bar Miami Cozumel

I dont know about resorts, but if you get a chance, check out Bar Miami. Best mojito i have ever had. Guy grinds up ingredients in a bowl and mixes it. they have a beach with swimming, but it is more of a dive bar than anything. my favorite place on the island.

So the best beaches are actually on the east side of the island, but I hear the currents are a lot stronger on that side. There is no lodging on that side either. Definitely make your way over there though, it is very beautiful. I would recommend stopping at Coconut's bar. Beautiful cliff side dive bar. I would also stop at the lighthouse.

Sent Mrs Füt and the two female little füts to the InterContinental Presidente Cozumel several years ago.

It went well.

I’ve been all over Cozumel, the western side is usually calm water, the eastern side gets busy early & often.

If she’s not experienced, stay there (Presidente) and rent a moped and drive around the island.

Whatever dive operation you choose, make sure they take you to Palancar reef. It’s absolutely loaded with amazing sea life.

I'm in Cozumel 3-4 times per year to dive. Here is the deal...it is not really a "beach" place. Some of the All-Inclusives on the south side of the island have small beaches, but even then the same is kinda course.

The food at the AI are not what they cracked up to be and the island has some awesome restaurants downtown. My suggestion is to stay half way between downtown and the AI area. Find a place with a pool. Visit downtown San Miguel.

Contact Cesar with Carribean Divers. Good friend of mine. He has a a larger boat with a hard roof that you can go up on and lay out on the way to the roof. I usually stay at Casa Del Mar.....great staff and the food there is good. They do have an AI option for about $40 per day. I used to use it years ago until I learn about the good food downtown.

Have fun.....it is awesome, and yes....if you guys have the certification and experience .....dive Palancar.....if you want to see BIG marine life ( i.e. turtles, eagle rays, sharks, moray eels., etc) get Cesar or your dive op to take you to Paso De Cedral

Whatever you do take a little time off and head down to Rasta's (Freedom in Paradise Bar) fo an afternoon of relaxation. Great food and drinks for cheap and one of the prettiest beaches you'll see on the island. It is NOT a diving spot. It's at the point of the island and the water there is like a washing maching.
