Condo rentals in Florida

Does anyone have tips on reasonable gulf front condo rental sites that don’t have fees that far exceed the cost of rental? I realize it’s not cheap, but looking at VRBO and a few other so-called ‘by owner’ sites, a 4 night trip is pushing $1500 for a 3br. It’s ridiculous, and gets worse every year. I’m looking for options that cut out some of the BS fees. Owner direct would be ideal. Just looking for alternatives. TIA

That's actually a really good price. You aren't staying in Biloxi so get used to summer rates where you are looking.
When I first started taking the family to the beach 15 years ago, it was a lot cheaper. Then after the real estate crash in the 2009 time frame, there were some steals out there.
Now over the past five years the rental rates have risen a shitton. Nothing you can do about it other than maybe go after peak season.

How is $375 a night for a 3 bedroom condo right on the gulf ridiculous? Seems pretty cheap considering how much space you are wanting plus the ability to have a kitchen to cook your own meals in.
How much you think a regular hotel room with only two queen beds and no kitchen right on the gulf would cost you?

These were September rates.

Congrats on being poor.
If you can't afford it at 1500, save your money and pay off your truck nuts.
Any decent resort hotel in the US is at least 400 a night.
1500 for 3br 4 nights beach front even in Sept is cheap.

You are right about the fees. Vrbo has some high fees. Try [link=(Www.southernresorts.com)]Southern resorts[/link] It’s usually $200 or do cheaper than vrbo for the same units.
Also, try pelican beach in destin. A week in August is 1800+|- for a 2br. Been there a few times. Great location, has bar and grill. They’re always running a special.

Check out a place called Destin West Resort in Ft. Walton. I remember them being pretty reasonable.
If you can't find your price point in Florida, you might need to consider Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.
Brett Robinson has several condos they manage. Simple places, but cheaper than what you will generally find.
