Best Way To Get From SeaTac to Downtown Seattle? Plus best plan for 1/2 Day in Seattle?

Will be flying into SeaTac on a Thursday at 12:30pm. The hotel we booked is the Hyatt House at 201 5th Avenue North. I initially thought we'd just take the Link rail, but there really isn't a stop close to the hotel.

Is Uber the next best thing? Any idea on how much a ride to Downtown is?

We'll only have that afternoon and evening to explore Seattle as we're only there for a cruise. I figured we'd walk down to Pike Market and then walk along the Sound. I know it's not much, but we won't have much time.

Any other suggestions?

Don't know the answer to your question. I assume uber but I had a rental when I was there.

Here's a link to a similar thread. If I had a half day, I'd do the glass garden and the grunge tour. But that's just me. Pike's is cool as well.

Uber works exceptionally well in Seattle, maybe $20 to downtown from SEATAC.

You are looking at about a $35 Uber ride from Sea-Tac to Downtown Seattle from what I remember.

You can use the Uber app to get the price. I'm in Austin and just did your route. $36.76

Take the rail as close as you can and have uber or a cab meet you there

Take the train or whatever they call it. It was clean and efficient.

There is a train called the light rail that reaches downtown. Seems like it was around $5 to ride one way. You'll come out of the station beneath the Nordstrom's right down town.

On my first trip to Seattle I booked a city tour. It was cool to go around to all of the different neighborhoods and see the land marks. I especially liked the altars locks with the below water viewing area to see the salmon swimming through. Not sure if you have enough time, but look into it.

One other thing I did tht was cool was take a sale boat out of the downtown area. It was cool as hell to be out in the sounds looking at mountains all around along with the Seattle skyline.

Don't take the light rail unless you are seriously strapped for cash. Takes an hour from the airport to the last stop at Westlake. Then you'd have to carry all your shite up through to station and call an Uber to your hotel. Uber will be $35 from SeaTac to Hyatt House. Worth it.

Only took about 35 minutes to near Pioneer square.

We had an overnight layover in SeaTac. We stayed at Red Roof and took the rail into downtown and back. The ride in and of itself was comical as some interesting characters got on. Always felt safe. the good thing about the rail was you could get off and on at different points. Wound up on the pier, did the harbor water tour. Had a great time. Nothing really to do in SeaTac itself.

Yeah, take the train. It's quick and cheap.
