Looking for a couple good spots to hit up next weekend in DC. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Where are the good brunch and dinner places with good drinks? I'd like to do something on a rooftop as well if anyone knows a good one. TIA

Here you go- The W Hotel has a nice bar on the top floor with a good view of the city. We stayed next door at The Willard and went there for cocktails. D.C. is a good restaurant town , especially for ethnic food. These are our favorites: Zaytania for Mediterranean food, Rasika for Indian food, Tosca for Italian. Central was good and the Blue Duck Tavern was excellent. We also like the historic Old Ebbitt Grill which also has a great bar. All of these places ( except for maybe the Blue Duck) are an easy walk from the White House.

I really liked Le Diplomate... It's a casual, French brasserie... but the food was excellent.. Also, a good place for brunch..

Just got back from DC. There is a lot of great eats there and also do a quick search b/c TD has a lot of good restaurant threads about DC.
Here are the places we really loved:
Founding Farmers - great brunch
Cuba Libre - lunch
Old Ebbit - great dinner and location
The Hamilton - great dinner
Top of the Watergate for drinks
The W for drinks
1789 - dinner, expensive but very good. This is in Georgetown
Filomena Ristorante - some of the best Italian I have ever had. This is in Georgetown as well and decently priced.

If you like Belgian/French, white table cloth fine dining do Marcels,2401 Pennsylvania Av. His bistro style with Belgian as well as seafood and a huge selection of beers and ales is Bistro Beck.

Ate at Succotash our last night there. It was awesome.
It was southern food, but brought out to the table sort of buffet style. $40/person. I think they brought out 8 courses. We all left extremely satisfied, and yet didn't over indulge b/c of the portions in which they bring out each course.
They had some smoked wings with this white sauce on them. Best chicken wings i've ever eaten in my life, and everyone at the table agreed.

For a steakhouse, try mastros. It’s a small chain, mostly in the southwest, but I think they’re expanding nationally with location in Boston and DC.
