Which hotel rewards program do y’all like best and why? Looking at getting another credit card for travel for work and want to look into maximizing points. Also have a Chase Sapphire Reserve for another job that I travel with, so that’s in the wallet already.

IHG throws out points like crack and it’s very easy to hit the top level, Spire.

Agree with the other poster about IHG but I have been historically loyal to Starwood/Marriott. By the end of the year I should have lifetime gold.

I feel like IHG doesn’t have nearly the number of nicer properties available that I’d like to use my points for. I’ve had them on the past, but some places don’t make sense and they’ve bumped up top tier places from 50,000 to 70,000 points recently.

I like Hyatt best because they have low & high end properties, but most importantly their points redemptions are fixed. New Years Eve in Times Square is the same rate as a random Tuesday, can get some great values. Also they just added Small Luxury Hotels, & they have all-inclusive properties so can get great value that way as well.

Hyatt's biggest issue is not having as many properties.

Hyatt is about the only property I don't stay at for work. I have so many points across all of them that I don't use, so I've recently switched to exclusively using Bonvoy.

I've got a shite ton, I think 90k worth of Wyndham from staying in the brand new LaQuintas throughout the northern Dallas area. But since LaQunita got bought out by Wyndham, the points aren't worth what they were with LaQuinta. Nice hotel used to be 9-11k points with LaQuinta, its now minimum of 15k. Actually considering just cashing in for gift cards and moving on with life.

The problem is, when I go on vacation, I always stay at boutique hotels, so difficult to use the points. Hoping that by using Bonvoy, I'll be able to use them in places I like to go.

Look at AMEX Bonvoy, very similar to Sapphire Reserve. Bonvoy has allowed me to stack points along with the 75k point bonus for getting the card. Now at Titanium and have 300k points. Was looking last night the Westin in Aspen is only 35k points a night, can stay at Ritz Carlton for 60k per night. Use 4 nights of points 5th night is free.

300 annual credit for property stays
Annual boost to Gold Status
Annual Elite Night Credits
6x Bonvoy points for stays at Marriott resorts
Free annual room

I have a referral link if u want it, bonuses for both of us.

Appreciate it, but I’m holding off for right now for a couple months. Might bump the thread if I need it in time. Thanks.
