Be careful in Cancun right now

Been two separate shootings in the past few weeks where tourist were killed. Some Cartel shite going on down there right now. Im heading to Riviera Maya in 7 months. Hope it cools off. Just be careful in and round town...

We only use Cancun as a place to get on the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Will be there in a month. Thanks for the heads up.

I will be flying in there headed south to Riviera Maya... I have never felt unsafe there or any other place in Mexico but that does not mean things cant happen..

I arrive in Cancun on Feb 2nd and move over to Isla on the 5th.

If you want fantastic cheap authentic Mexican food eat at Basto's and order the flank steak. I can't wait to go back.
Visit Punta Sur and walk the trails down to the water. It's beautiful and some of the wildest water I've seen. Serious washing machine stuff going on down there.
Thursday is cheeseburger day at Soggy Peso and they're damned good cheeseburgers. Sunday is ribs and if you want them you have to get there before they open to get an order in.

Love Isla. Been a few times. Had local deckhands that worked for my wife's uncle take us around and we hung out at locals spots at night. It was awesome and interesting and a couple of times a little scary. My BIL is a big dude so they didn't mess with us. Some of those frickers get drunk as a mofo on that tequila
