Any advice on where to look for the best group rates on a cruise for 12-16 people? We’re looking to go in January and want to leave New Orleans.

I usually book mine myself. But with that large of a group, it might be easier to use a travel agent.

We did it. Before the drink packages were available which I'd definitely do if you all are drinkers.
It was like a long cab ride to Mexico and back.
At the time not everyone was walking around with a camera/video camera in their pocket which was nice. 4 day cruise is plenty time.
Casino for gamblers. Bet which table can eat the most lobster tails on lobster night.
It's like a lawless world once you hit the open water for some people. The later into the night the more interesting the stories.
You and all your buddies can have your lodging, food and unlimited booze for well under 1k in January.
If you are OT rich head to Turks and Caicos. If your a normal group of dudes go run that ship.
Find El barco in Cozumel.

So please go ahead and answer the question we all want to ask:
Is this cat gonna have more pussy than he’ll know what to do with?

There's something for everyone on the boat, no matter their desire.

I’d recommend taking the trek to Galveston and doing a 7 night on the Carnival Vista. It’s their second newest ship. Spend the extra $ and book the Havana Experience. They have cabana rooms, suites (both of which can hold 3 with their own bed each), aft balconies, and inside rooms. You get access to a bar, pool and hot tubs that only 50 staterooms get during the day. No fighting over deck chairs and the same bartender all week.
You can go up to the main pool for party atmosphere during the day anytime you want.
If doing a 5 nighter, I recommend the Carnival Dream out of Galveston.
You might want to also consider going out of Ft Lauderdale or Miami in January. The northern part of the Gulf gets cold in Jan and you won’t want to be outdoors on your last sea day going out of NOLA or Galveston. Any RCCL Oasis Class ship, Norwegian Escape, or Carnival Horizon will be good fits for a 6 or 7 night. The Escape has interior rooms designed for singles for $1100/wk.
