For those familiar with Austin, are there any areas to stay away from near Dell Children's Medical Center? Our son is having a surgery within the next few months (not scheduled yet) and we will need to either stay at an AirBnb or Extended stay. Looking for a decent area to stay near the hospital. Thank you.

How much are you looking to spend, and how close do you need to be to the hospital?

Tarrytown isn't too far, but it's pricey. Otherwise, I believe there are a bunch of condos in the Mueller area. But, like Winston said...it's not the best area.

Let me know if you need anything while you're here. Would be happy to help you out in any way I can.

Probably looking around $3k if we can find something decent for that. Wife wants to be right near the hospital but I would think 15m away is fine. Doc wants us there a week before the procedure for a heart cath, will be in the hospital for 1-2 weeks for recovery, and then stay in town an extra week or two for follow ups.

Appreciate the help.

there are some sketchy hotels in that area. you may look around the domain/arboretum area instead. from there it is a quick loop down 183
