Looking for something different for me and the wife for later on this year. What's to do and where? Did the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam based out of Vegas last year. Loved the area so want to go back at some point. Fly out of New Orleans to where? MLB game is a probable. Suggestions?

Here's my thread from a while back asking for recs for Sedona, Phoenix and Scottsdale for my dad's wedding. LINK
We flew into PHX, went straight to a Dbacks game, then drove up to Sedona and spent a week there. Pink jeep tour, Elote cafe (best food I've had in a while), Devil's Bridge hike, Bear mountain hike (intense), supposed to do a hot air balloon ride but too windy, Clark Creek before it got caught up in flames . Went to the grand canyon for a day, but was pretty smokey from the wildfire. Plenty of shops to browse in Sedona, good ice cream and some ghost tours around the area. I wish we could've spent longer there, was a great family vacation
On the way back to Phoenix we spent a night in Scottsdale and I almost met up with Lsu480 but he got a booty call . Had drinks at a few places then found a comedy club that was actually pretty good. Great place to go out and the people were pretty nice.
You'll have a blast wherever you end up out there

Sedona and Flagstaff...both have amazing scenery
Check Dbacks schedule to see when they have home games and you can plan for that.
Spend a couple days in Scottsdale as well. There is a Top Golf there if you haven't been to one yet. Lots of shopping and great restaurants as well. Many brewpubs have popped up all over Phoenix metro area.

What month? That makes a big difference.
Lived in Phoenix for awhile. Only part of the state I don't care for, other than old town Scottsdale. Sedona is beyond words. Do an Airbnb or Homeaway for 4/5 days and rent a jeep with Barlowe Jeep Rentals. DIY is more fun than a pink jeep and it's not overly challenging if you have common sense and the conditions are good. Tucson is underrated. Flagstaff, the White Mountains are great.

Like someone else replied, there are plenty of nice establishments in Scottsdale to make the stay worthwhile.
In Scottsdale, hike Camelback Mountain for an awesome view.
The Diamondbacks have great pre-game atmosphere with several sports bars around the stadium. I took the train downtown and it was an easy trip. Stadium is nothing to write home about, but I had a great time.
