They filed for bankruptcy not long ago, no telling how much longer they'll actually fly for.

I used their lounge in Rome. It was nice.

Alitalia's stuggles are nothing new, Etihad owns about a 50% share. I'm sure they will get bailed out again. The Italian government can't keep their flagship airline solvent. It's sad.

Yeah they are basically the national airline for Italy, I wouldn't worry about them pulling an Air Berlin.
I flew on an Alitalia flight from NY to Rome back in ~1998 that was a smoking flight. That was a new experience for a 17 year old, along with the free vino.

I flew from Naples to Rome with them not too long ago. I dont remember it being bad. Was a really short flight though

Flew Alitalia this July from FCO to JFK in business. Food and wine was awesome, beat the shite out of Delta on the way over.

I flew Alitalia round trip JFK to Rome about ten years ago. Great flight.

I flew with them from Athens to Rome last year but don’t remember anything specific about them, which is a good thing. I always fly coach and don’t really look for anything more than a timely, hassle free flight.

Flew them from Milan to Cagliari (Sardinia) a few years ago and it was fine. No problems.
