I am trying to plan a trip to attend the US open this summer at Pebble Beach. I will be flying from South Alabama (MOB, GPT, MSY, or PNS). I am looking to be off from Wednesday morning 6/12 until the following Wednesday 6/19 night. Plan to attend the Saturday and Sunday rounds at US open. We are interested in Napa Valley, Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, and some nice beaches on the coast. I know all of this may not be possible in one trip. The golf being in the middle of the trip makes it tough to schedule the rest. All of you travel experts give me your advice and recommended itinerary such as where to fly into and out of, etc. Also feel free to suggest things I failed to list. I am open to anything at this point. Thanks.

Go to South Lake Tahoe - enjoy the lake, play some golf and miss out on the crowded at the open.

Did the US Open 10 years ago and was supposed to attend this year, but something came up and can no longer go. Isn’t it in June?
Flew in and out of San Francisco. We stayed at a Vrbo in Carmel Valley. For parking during the open, we parked by the beach close to the 9th hole. If you’re parking and taking a shuttle, it takes a while and street parking is hard to find at the main entrance. There are vineyards in Carmel Valley- Talbott being a decent one. I recently went to Napa, and Napa is an outstanding experience comparatively, but you can get lots of wine drinking in closer to Pebble. This could leave more time for other things. Pro tip: it may be chilly and cloudy but wear sunscreen.
If you’re trying to do it all...
Fly into SF on Wednesday and drive towards Yosemite stay at a hotel close to the park. Thursday and Friday- Yosemite and Sequoia. Friday afternoon drive to Carmel, if you leave early enough on Friday include Bug Sur on your drive. Saturday and Sunday golf. Monday drive to Napa then Wednesday drive from Napa to the airport. Needless to say you’re getting up early everyday except for Napa which is why I listed it last. I like relaxing at the end of a trip.
If I had to cut something, it would be Sequoia. Go to Mariposa Grove in Yosemite if seeing Sequoias is your goal. It would leave a little more time for either Yosemite, Big Sur, Carmel Valley vineyards, SF, or Monterey.
Wanted to add: I would rather go to the open Thursday and Friday- you will see more players and slightly less crowds.

sequoia NP is pretty fricking awesome, and is far less crowded and more low-key than yosemite. obviously its different, but it stands on its own merits. plus, kings canyon NP is jaw-droppingly beautiful. one thing to consider is that the sierras are flat covered in snow right now...mid june they still might be, and yosemite could be partially inaccessible. on the other hand, if its clear, the falls should be spectacular

no wrong answer

There is a lot of snow compared to last year right now. Look at the averages for when the main road opens online to give you an idea and map out what you want to see. Even if the road is not open all the way, you may still have access to the sights you want to see.
If they had time, of course do it to all. Sequoia is awesome. He didn’t mention King’s Canyon so not trying to take away from his wants. Personal opinion if you haven’t been to Yosemite it is a must do over the others. I mean it’s a fairly popular opinion, which is why it is more crowded. The last two times I went to Yosemite was Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend. Had a place to park everywhere and didn’t feel like the roads were overly congested. Maybe I lucked out, but it was great.
If he changed the days he’s attending the tournament or instead of Napa go back to the parks, he could do all three. The fact it’s in the middle of the trip means he can’t be in one place too long.
Basically you can’t go wrong, just do what works best for you and plan ahead. It’s all beautiful!
