Sister is getting married 2nd weekend in March.

Sounds like you're free the first weekend of March which is when I'll be in Salt Lake area... If I do Sun Valley 3/2-3/3, Big Sky 3/4-3/5 and skip Jackson, that means I should be in SLC area 3/6-3/9. What do you need to do for her wedding the Monday- Thursday beforehand?

Back in CO, skied Breck on Wednesday for the first time ever. Kind of an impossible place to try to cover in a day, so I focused on Peek 10, Peak 8(imperial lift) and Peak 6.

Peak 10 was fun and a good place to get my legs warmed up, hit all the black diamonds and then noticed that they were done blasting and opened up the Imperial lift so I skied that way. The snow was nice on imperial, lots of wind buff.

After a few runs down the Imperial bowl, I skied down Whale's tail and the Y-Chute. Snow was kind of weird in spots, Y-Chute is steep.

Finished the day on Peek 6 and really enjoyed that area. Wanted to do the hike to the peak and a snowboarder was trying to convice me but decided to save my legs. Intutition was a fun run, skied that several times. Overall I thought Breck was nice, flat in spots but also areas that I loved skiing.

Skied A-Basin today, two inches of completely unexpected snow fell that skied more like 4-6 inches in spots. Joined up with a local skier and he showed me some cool spots. Took me over to Dreamcatcher where he showed me his favorite line through the trees. This was where the snow was its deepest, this run is kind of out of the way so it doesn't get much attention.

After that I told him I never really skied Pali much, he took over to the spine and skied a line where the snow was the best.

Skied Exhibition, my chute and international over by Pali. After that I thanked him for making my day, all of those runs are double blacks and steep with rocks in areas and he showed me all of his favorite lines. Just rolled into Steamboat now, my legs are beat up but it was probably my best day of the season.

I've never skied there so will plan on stopping there, will let you know when. Is there a good place to stay near there or A basin?

This is close to the timing I'd be in CO, I can try to figure out a good route to meet you there during that timeframe

The top of Imperial is worth it just for the pics. Whale Tail is cool. Peak 10 is great yet pretty mild considering the big “Advanced Terrain” banner. I remember skiing The Burn as a kid when it looked like a bunch of 3’ pylons.

Sounds like you have a lot of strangers to meet up with along the way. Btw, it’s easier to introduce as “a guy I know” than explaining TD and sounding absolutely crazy.

"Yeah he's an e-friend from an LSU sports messaging board that I've never actually met before now". Rolls off the tongue

Frisco and Dillon are good places to stay while in Summit County, as is Breckenridge, if you’re skiing Breck.

If you have points and aren’t looking for anything special, Hyatt House in Dillon has some cheap award nights.

Frisco, Dillon or Silverthorne are all good spots for skiing at Copper. Maybe we can all do a meet up at Copper

Sold out for that second week of march, it must be spring break or Mardi gras season. Looks like I'll have to airbnb CO on this trip

Lets plan on that. Guessing the locals on here wont want to go on a saturday or sunday? I'm yet to plan out specific dates but it will depend on motel costs. I'll aim for a weekday for us to avoid the crowds.

Oh and here's a pic for Duke, NSFW

Copper lodging is limited. Most people end up staying in Frisco/Dillon. Probably not a bad idea for you, if you plan on hitting both, since they're on opposite sides of the county.

Yeah, I was surprised to see all the expert only signs on Peak 10 but I guess it might keep a few people away which is alright with me. It is very mild, that said Steamboat has expert signs up on lower valley view and that isn't exactly much harder but maybe it gets icy at times. Imperial was definitely worth dealing with the wind and cold.

Steamboat is in amazing condition, no fresh snow in a few days but once the sun came out everything softened up nicely. Stuck to the black groomers early, storm peak north and south, tornado, hurricane...they had a ton of runs groomed which was a bit surprising. Here is a shot down Storm King...

Once the sun came out and softend everything up I hit Shadows and Closets, can't really beat those glade runs. Trees are perfectly spaced and after so much snow everything is well covered. The aspens are nice since you can't really get a tree well under them, makes me feel a bit better going solo through them.

After my legs had enough trees and bumps, I lapped 3 O' Clock a few times and finished my day going down Valley View it was nice to finish the day on some wide open steep groomers. Seemed like most of the crowds go down the other way, so I could open it up bit. Hoping to hit the chutes at some point if my legs can keep it together, I'll post a final update in a few days.
