Yeah I guess you’re right. I see people fall all the time on easy runs and not once do I even as much as chuckle. It’s just part of the game and I was there once.

How was your last two days?

Big Sky is getting hammered right now.
Already over a foot with another foot on the way.
Too bad I'm not there right now.

It’s been fantastic. Have found a lot of powder despite not getting much snow. Today was blue bird and just fantastic. I’ve been to Vail in the past but I’ve never explored so much. I’ve touched just about every part of the mountain, except the far west bowls and the east side of BSB. I slammed hard today though and it got in my head and made me apprehensive so the later part of today kind of sucked. Hopefully tomorrow starts out with my confidence back.

Yeah. Today was the coldest but I’ve got good gear so it doesn’t really bother me. I don’t like having buffs over my mouth and nose so I’m constantly pulling it down. Got some nice wind burn this week.

Great stats! Just wrapped up four days here with five mountains for some family friends that visited from FL. Hit up Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie, Alpental, Mt Baker, and Crystal Mountain. I'll post some pics tomorrow

Big sky got 4 feet over the weekend.
But the high for today is -17F. With a windchill of -40F.
Frostbite in minutes for any exposed skin.
Yikes.

Sad to miss the epic powder, but I'll pass on the Frostbite.

I've skied in single digits below, which is fine as long as the wind isn't an issue. But I'll pass on that.

Thinking of going solo to Stevens pass in late March. I have a place to stay in Sammamish, which I believe is about a hour(ish) drive to Stevens Pass…worth the drive everyday?

Five mountains in four days, pics below

Stevens Pass- Got really lucky with the sun coming out, bottom of the mountain was cloudy but nice up top. Spring like conditions

Views from the top of the 7th Heaven lift

View of the backside

Double blacks on the frontside

Day 2- Summit at Snoqualmie and Alpental. Snoqualmie pics first, skied most of the morning at Central

Made our way over to Alpental, no one there

Alpental is very steep, here's some pics from the chair that goes up top

Friend unbuckled from his board just after this to get the up thill and his board started to go down the Fan, a double black... Got so lucky his board flipped and got stuck in the snow thanks to his bindings. I would've gone chasing after it at least

Day 3- Mt Baker. Friends liked this location the best, they also got 4" of fresh snow overnight so conditions were great when the sun came out

These views are of the canyon, very cool run

Views from the Pandome area by Chair 1

Mt. Baker off in the background on the left

This is the view of the other mountain

Fun tree skiing

View of the canyon from the other side of the mountain

Day 4- Crystal. Little cloudy and a bit icy underneath, but was able to find some soft snow and the groomers were great before the crowds got there.

View of Chair 6, this is the highest point on the mountain

View from the Northway lift in the back

Overall, great four days! Friends were super thrilled to knock off a bunch of mountains they never would have visited if I didn't live around here

Little over an hour given you're south of where I'm at currently. Do you have Epic? Conditions should be spring like, weekends are a nightmare with how many people go up but if you've got time on weekdays there shouldn't be anyone there. Alpental is also good if you want difficult terrain and a much closer drive, small mountain though in comparison. Crystal also isn't all that far from Sammamish either, should be an hr 45 min?

Love Mt. Baker. My favorite mountain in Washington.

I’ve been a bit MIA from the skiing thread this year. I’ve finally moved back to Denver though. Copper has been OK this season. We had a good storm Friday night with 9” of powder but the visibility was not ideal all weekend. Either way, great powder weekend.

Couple shots from the backside after having to hike up the ridge to drop in.

Geez, my photos sucks compared to y’all’s

You just need a bigger lens apparently

Question for everyone here- I'm moving out of WA on 3/1 and trying to plan my drive back to the northeast. From WA, I'm planning on driving southeast towards Idaho, then Utah, Colorado, and eventually the flat states. I could do ID/MT but I just skied Schweitzer so am looking for other mountains.

I have the Ikon pass so am trying to stop at a few mountains on my drive. What route would you take to maximize the ikon destinations and how long at each mountain would you stay?

Example- Leave WA and drive 8 hours to Boise, ski 2 days at Sun Valley. Drive to Salt Lake area, spend 3 or 4 days skiing Alta/Snowbird/Solitude/Brighton. From there I could take I-80 and hit up Aspen then Copper OR I could take HWY 40 and stop at Steamboat, Winter Park, and Arapahoe. One day at each mountain?

I think a lot of it is personal preference. If I had the freedom of time so would do: Seattle -> Big Sky -> Jackson -> Steamboat -> Winter Park

Or you skip the MT and WH resorts and plug in ID & UT ones

I have no advice (or changes), but that sounds like one badass road trip. Enjoy

For Colorado, if you have the time and money why not do it all?

Snowmass is my favorite mtn. It is a great intermediate mtn. If you want steep head down the road to Aspen.

Steamboat is getting record snow this year. I am tired of seeing pics from there this year. I expect all the trees to be missing all their branches after this year.

Winter Park (actually Mary Jane) has the best mogul skiing in the country if that is your thing.

Really no reason to hit Copper. It is fun and all but no reason to go to Summit County for that or A Basin.
