My wife and I are looking to take a two week trip to Europe next year. We've been to Germany and Italy and are looking at Portugal, Spain, and France. If you had to choose 3 of the following 4 cities to visit, which would you choose and why? We are looking at Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris.

TIA

Lisbon, Barcelona and Paris.....Madrid is nice but Barcelona is great.....and Madrid can be very hot in the summer. I will also add Porto....maybe like it more than Lisbon.

Been to all. Barcelona is my favorite city in the world, so that one is a must visit. I am personally not a huge fan of Paris, but if your wife is like every other woman on the planet, she will want to go there. Decision made.

We took a fantastic trip in April of last year. We flew in to Barcelona, stayed there for a week, then took a 6 hour train ride to Paris and stayed there for a week. Paris is my favorite vacation destination and Barcelona is not far behind.

Has anyone done Paris to Barcelona with stops in between? I'm doing a Paris to Lyon to Barcelona for two weeks and looking for one or two overnight stays in between.

We considered doing this but opted to fly to amsterdam instead. Montpelier looked interesting as an overnight stay. We did stay a night in Cadaques, Spain as a trip from barcelona to visit Gaudi's house. Cadaques is really beautiful and we wished we would would have spent 2 days there. Its a 2 hour train and 1 hour bus ride.....and the bus goes over some mountains on a twisty road.....there were barf bags on the bus going to cadaques.
