So much excitement, anticipation and happiness, not what we expected this offseason

I’m THRILLED at the opportunity for this team to finally grow a backbone and play fundamentally solid football.

I am more excited about being 7-5 with a new coaching staff

Than I would have been at 9-3 and maybe even 10-2 with the old staff

I’ve said it several times about how I’m still excited even though I think we will probably be 7-5 or 8-4 again this next season. But it’s different because I think fisher can actually build for the future and have us competing at a high level in 2-4 years. Sumlin truly had sucked the energy out of the program.

This.

Ehh, he gave us a big boost at the beginning. We limped to the finish of the 2011 season and the advent of Sumlin/Manziel was the shot in the arm the program needed at the time. He just couldn't sustain it, obviously.

Agreed that those two really skyrocketed our program in 2012 and 13. I was mainly talking 2015-2017 seasons as when the energy left the program. Every year we were promised it would be different, but every year was the same result, and eventually most could see the writing on the wall.

But part of that isn't that its just any old coaching staff. What is so exciting is we just pulled off one of the biggest hires since tOSU got Urban Meyer.

We could go 6-6 as long as we don't look mentally soft and unprepared every game, and I'll be ecstatic.

Yeah this hire has drawn me back to checking the internet and checking in with the people I know in and around the program lol guess I'll be using my tickets next year for more than one or two games. Figures it all happens when I have a steady job again, dammit I knew I should've stayed semi retired

I really think we could go 5-7 next year and through a lot of pains. The offense we are switching to will take time to implement. It's a hell of a lot more complicated than Spavital's bubble screens or Kingsbury's note card playbook

South Carolina returns key starters on offense and if they make a good hire at OC, they'll beat us...+ It's a road game.

Kentucky loses their QB, but they have some pretty good guys at that position who will likely step up. This game is a toss up. Definitely a lose-able game.

Arkansas will likely get going a lot quicker than we are due to Morris's offense. I really see their 2018 season go a lot like our 2012 season (not Heisman worthy, but a quicker turnaround). I see a loss here for us.

Guaranteed losses to Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU.

5-7 is a real possibility.
