Make sure you have a MINIMUM of 5gb of free space on the HD your installing it on (C: for almost everyone). I was getting errors since my C: is rather small.
I've got about 350GB of 1TB free.

I keep getting the update failed code 80240020. I've tried to deleting files in the SoftwareDistribution Download folder wuauclt.exe /updatenow thing. Still hasn't worked. I saw another supposed fix that messes with registry keys that I'm hesitant to try. Is there anything else?

nvm I reset my date to 01 August and ran it again. It's currently downloading at a snails pace.

Now it's going all the way to preparing for installation and failing out with code 8024200D.

For anyone still waiting, you don't have to... I tried it, and it works.

Yeah. I'm currently doing the upgrade by just downloading the tool. I got an email informing me of the option.

took 30 to 45 minutes. I got nervous a couple of times when I thought it might be hung up but it wasn't.
The first time it fully reloaded, it didn't load up the video card driver so only one of my 3 monitors was active. I just restarted the PC and boom it came up.
Email is still set up and I definitely already love how apps act more like programs now and they also appear faster.
On 8 and 8.1 even crappy tiny apps seemed to take a bit to load and weren't as responsive as normal programs. So far that appears to have been fixed.
I didn't think I would notice any increase in speed since I already was using an ssd, but it did appear to load even faster although it was already super fast.
So far everything I use appears to be compatible, but it might take a few days to be sure.
Don't have a clue about any of the new features so I guess I'll check a few sites to see what was added.

Here's what I am trying:
I did this and it allowed the update to restart. Now it is downloading fresh. So we will see

What this error means is, your Windows 10 installation folder is unfinished and/or corrupted. Now, how do you fix that? 1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder. 2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow". 3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 should start re-downloading from scratch, hopefully without flaws this time.

Same here. So how many are gonna use Microsoft Edge browser? I guess I'll try it for a while to see how it runs and if I like the layout. I guess it is an explorer replacement. Nice way to keep the explorer "e" by going with Edge.

Which browser are you posting from? I'm finding Edge to be laggy. Jumped back on firefox and it's is fast. Plus, edge won't recognize anything but explorer when I want to import bookmarks and settings.

Anyone know how to "Play To" your TV in Windows 10?
Posted on 7/31/15 at 10:04 pm to whodatfan
I'm trying edge now. It seems pretty slick but no adblock is gonna make me quickly go back to firefox/chrome.
