I have Straight Talk which, in my case, operates off of AT&T towers. I went this route so I wouldn't have to be stuck in a long term contract with the same provider.

Looking to switch carriers because I have been having trouble sending text messages with and without attachments and sending things email from the phone.

My cell phone issues happen on a fairly regular basis. My phone is a little more than a year old and Android OS.

Every time I contact ST's tech support, we have the same conversation and I am redoing the settings on my phone (which shouldn't have to be redone if the same commands are being entered, right?)

Anyhow, I guess I want to be able to walk into a Verizon or AT&T or whatever store and have face to face with their techs and not have to talk to someone over the phone who has an accent that doesn't match Coach Eaux's... I can understand him!

Is what I'm dealing with Android vs. iPhone and not the service provider?

But I still want to know what service provider works best when there are 100K+ people on campus on gameday.

The more I type in here the more confused I'm becoming, so I'll hang up and listen.

I can’t answer your overall question directly as to which service works best at LSU games. But all of the MVNOs like Straight Talk that resell service from the major carriers like AT&T and Verizon specifically state that when the network is contested, like around campus during an LSU game or at a mall in December, you’re at the back of the line behind all of the direct customers of the major carriers.

They may all be terrible in a situation like an LSU game, but generally speaking the major carriers themselves will be bettter than the MVNOs in a highly contested situation.
So since this is something you want to avoid you should be looking at AT&T and Verizon rather than the cheaper alternatives like Straight Talk.

Last season there were mobile Verizon towers on campus to help with cell phone signals, and it helped immensely. I'm guessing they'll be back this season. Service in the area, especially Riverbend, is spotty at best.

Carriers stopped offering contracts a long time ago. You can now sign up one day and leave the next without any issues.

Contracts have been replaced by device financing. But since you're on prepaid, I'm sure you're already buying your own phone so you don't need to finance one.

I use my cell phone to stream games onto the TV. I have ATT and stream via ATT Now app. Been doing this past three seasons. Only time I had a problem was 'Bama game 2018.

Also, wife was pregnant last year. I was able to text and call even inside the stadium for the biggest home games against Florida and Auburn to keep in touch.
