What to do with old DRTV boxes

What have y’all done with old drtv dark boxes they didn’t ask for when you canceled?

Had to return mine if you're talking about the DVR and tuners.

could you get the hard drive out and use it? Always wondered that.

They didn't ask for my mini boxes back last time I cancelled. On the new install I asked the guy if I could use the old boxes for extra TV's. He told me they are all assigned (assuming by MAC address) and that they wouldn't connect to the new receiver. Never tried it though. Maybe you will have some luck plugging the old ones in and seeing what happens?
