It is a Motorola SB6121. My internet has been crappy lately, and wondering if this thing is on its last days. I have xfinity and show be getting upwards of 250 mbps, but rarely top 90.

Which modem or type of modem should I get?

Need to up your DOCSIS game to 3.1.

Double check with XFinity to make sure it is compatible, which I can’t see why it wouldn’t be.

ETA: if you are opening your wallet for a new modem, don’t get another DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

Can you explain how you tested your speeds?

Were you connected wifi? Were connected to a switch? Were you directly connected to the modem?

Your device apparently can't hit 250Mbps down

I went with the MB8600 with DOCSIS 3.1. Turns out that my current modem is nearly 6 years old.

You can kick JB if you decide to go fiber later on.
