think the OP just needs a plug behind the TV mount to use for power and to run cables. all he needs is a simple $40 in-wall kit that takes maybe 30 minutes to install.

Of course...but going off his original, he wants to power the plug off of of the other receptacles, so was asking about options. So instead of going thru/around studs etc, it's easier to come off of a receptacle in the attic.

If you can't use what CAD posted, an electrician should be able to add a receptacle in under an hour and with less than $40 in material if there is a circuit available in the attic.

Probably looking at less than $200 total for someone to come do it. Then you don't have to worry about nail guards, routing the base boards, or painting your walls.

something like this wouldn't work for you?

If he's going to go through that trouble, he may as well just do the job right and go all out. Sheetrocking isn't hard. The only issue may be finding paint that will match his color. But if he has some paint in storage, then he's good to go.

another outlet wont help him run input cables.

you do understand those kits can be installed in a matter of minutes right?

CAD's in and out is what you should do if you came here to ask how to do it.

If you are experienced wiring then you would add a junction box in the attic from your bedroom circuit, put a drop in the cavity closest to the outlet side of the TV then install a recessed old work box and outlet. Depending on what you plug in you will still need the in and outs CAD suggested for your cabling.

Save yourself time and a headache and just do the in and outs and use an extension cord (14 gauge) and do it in minutes.

From what I understood in OP, he doesn’t just want to go up above an outlet. He wants to go between outlets which would render one of those kits useless. Can’t go sideways through studs with that.
Unless I misunderstood what he wanted.

No

This kit doesn't require you to go betweeen the outlets as the exit wallplate is above the outlets and you just run the little plug they give you into a nearby outlet.

This is everything you need (except a drill) and its under $50 at home depot and lowes.

Don't over-complicate this.

CAD, that won't line the plug up behind the tv. They would then have an outlet on side of the tv they have to plug into

This is how your solution works?

I don't understand. It doesn't matter where those outlets are because you plug into them externally.

Ah, gotcha. So they may just have to deal with seeing a wire on the bottom outlet

Well they're likely plugging in a few input devices anyway so they'll likely have a piece of furniture in front of the outlet with shelves to put the devices in anyway..

At least in my case I have a powerstrip, 4 port Ethernet switch, hdhomerun, fire TV, Sonos playbar, Chromecast Ulta and 2 open HDMI cables to hide.

I hardwired everything including the Chromecast.

I would run a new outlet from attic to behind tv and then from behind tv down wall to boxes etc. I assume cable box etc will be right under tv. This is the cheapest option and super easy if you have a 1 story.
