We have MBPs circa 2009-2010. Did ssd, ram 8gb, new battery to both for around 150 each. Night and day. I plan to let the kids use them when old enough in a year or two and I won’t care if they destroy them, yet I will have saved a thousand bucks in the process. Until then, they are perfect for the light use we put them through.

I ordered the parts and will report back with how it runs.


Did y’all have to create a flash drive with an OS to use after the parts are installed?
