Trying to Export Text Messages - Android

I'm trying to export a text conversation into Excel.
I've tried using an app called SMS-to-Text Pro. This app exports everything to .xls, but it doesn't have any of my texts. It only shows texts from the person I was texting, none of my replies.
How can I make this happen? How can I export both sides of a text exchange into xls?

If you have 25 bucks to burn, this software will supposedly do the job. I've never used it, but a quick Google revealed the software makers website and tutorial.

Easy and cheap way is to use Android Messages for the web and then take a screenshot.

Not sure, but if you switch to the default app, your messages should carry over.
