Tablets
To all you gadget gurus. I’m in the market to buy some tablets for my kids. They are relatively young, not quite teenagers yet. What is the best tablets for the best price (I’m not buying the expensive iPads)? Thanks in advance. ????

re: Tablets
For that age group, Fire tablets. They're dirt cheap, and pretty solidly built.

Yep, just bought my twins the HD 8 Kids version. They had a black friday sale of 2 for 165 or something like that

re: Tablets
Get a Fire tablet and add the Google Playstore to basically make it like any other Android tablet.

Playstore on Fire Tablet

Samsung galaxy 7.0. I have had 5 of these for family members. They all still work like new.

If you don't want to be locked down by Amazon, Lenovo has a 10.1 inch tablet on Amazon for like $105-ish

Fire tablets and it's not even remotely close if you're talking best bang for the buck. They were offering them for an insanely cheap amount recently. I think $100 for the 10 inch, which is crazy. Great specs, and a fraction of the cost of all other tablets. I recommend downloading the Google Playstore on it once you buy them though.

re: Tablets
Didnt google just yank Youtube from Fire tablets? Would be a pretty big deal for teenagers or even not quite teens.

re: Tablets
Yeah, I paid less than $80 for my Fire HD6 a few years ago. My daughter is 9 and uses an old iPad that my wife had, but before that I gave her my old first gen Fire tablet.

You can get a new Fire 7 tablet for $50 right now. or the HD8 for $80. For kids, shy away from the big screens. The smaller ones are better for small hands. I even prefer my 6 for actually reading on. Easier to hold one handed. Kids edition with case is only $100.
