Smashed my screen with a mower last week. 85% of my screen is blacked out, basically all of the middle area.
Trying to get all of my photos, videos, contacts, text message threads off of the broken phone to get into the new one.
It doesn't appear that all of that was set up to back up automatically in the cloud, though when it was set up by the guy at the AT&T store when I got it last September, he said it was...
I went to AT&T yesterday to set up my replacement phone & they couldn't get the stuff to transfer because they couldn't press the action buttons on my smashed phone to allow for the transfer.
Is there any hope of getting all my stuff off of the old phone? Some other work around?

Do you not use Gmail and Google photos? If so all your photos/videos and contacts are saved in those.

If you don't use those two services, you should. Google photos is the best photo app/cloud for Android or iOS.

I was under the impression that the AT&T rep took care of all of that when he set up my now broken phone.
Somehow, only 527 of my +2000 photos have carried over. So I'm not sure if my phone wasn't set up completely for all of my photos/albums, contacts, etc. to transfer to my new phone.

If you use Gmail all you contacts should be synced to the gmail account, and if you used the Google photos app, all of your photos will be on that app when you open your new phone. I doubt the att rep set up Google photos for you.

That said, on your new phone, download and setup Google photos now. It has unlimited cloud storage of photos. And make sure your phone is backed up to your Gmail account. Don't trust that the AT&T rep is going to do it right. This is one area where Google/Android is way ahead of iOS imo. If my phone were to explode right now, I could pick up a new phone, login to my Gmail account, and b have everything right there just as I left it

Plug your phone into the computer and get them off that way.

Wouldn't he have to press the button allowing the computer access?
