Rural Internet Help

I live in a pretty rural area in the Midwest- internet service is basically zero. My only option is satellite HughesNet which is atrocious. I have Verizon internet w/ ‘unlimited’ data on my phone, but I need a better WiFi system for everything else, including when I work from home. I can’t use my phone as a hotspot for more than a small amount of data as they throttle it. What are my other options?
Any mobile provider with unlimited (unthrottled) data/speed?
Is there some other option I’m not aware of?
I don’t mind paying, I just need a solution. Help!

Move. Not trying to be an arse but it looks like you've tried your options and found the limitations they pose. There are a couple of companies looking to do low orbit satellite internet which should be a lot better than Hughsnet because they're much closer to the ground. That's probably your best option long term, but those are probably at least a few years away from happening.

Your only option are:
Get a dedicated data plan from a cellular provider
Sometimes local communication companies will have a wireless network setup where you can get decent speeds. Here is an example of one here

How far away is the closest house with cable/dsl? You may be able to make a radio shot and share internet.

Pretty far. I know there was some option if you have a direct line of sight to the antenna on the courthouse in town but I don’t.
What about standalone cell hotspot plans? Is there anything out there that runs on Verizon towers and would work for me?

Sprint has a decent deal, 50gb for $50. Can you get their service?

Just looked it up. Does seem like a decent deal, I just wonder if 50gb is enough. I don’t get these companies. Id pay $100 for 100Gb if it were an option. Guess I could do 2 lines...

I live rural in the county. I called ComCast, and Spectrum. Gave them my address and told them I wanted a business connection to my address. Spectrum told me that was ComCast area, even though no service was in the area. ComCast sent a survey team out and did a construction cost estimate. Once that was done, I signed a contract and five months later I had internet. Of course there was some negotiating regarding construction costs, etc but I ultimately got what I needed. 5static ips and 20/200 connection.
They’re willing to absorb costs for business over residential.
Persistence, in my case paid off. Good luck.

Just make sure you get a router or hotspot that allows you to hook up an external antenna for the cellular signal. You can get a good yagi antenna for less than 50 on Amazon. Will help you point directly at the tower. You can find tower locations on cell reception.com

It looks like US Cellular has a ‘home internet’ option, too. I’m wondering which might be better. It’s $100 for ‘unlimited’ up to 160gb before throttling. Now I’m in debate mode.
Visible Wireless is another option - $40 per month for unlimited 5mbps speeds

Sign up with cell carrier and get an unlimited data plan. Buy a Mofi modem. Put the sim card in the modem. They don't throttle unless the network is in demand. If you live in a rural area, this will never happen. I've been doing this for about 9 months now. Never been throttled and I use about 150 gigs a month.

Interesting. They can’t tell that I’m using it in a hotspot? What carrier do you use?

Nope. I use T-mobile. No contract. It was cheaper than Verizon. Get around 25Mbps on wifi. The router's wifi covers my entire house, even the basement.
