What are the best(non-bamk breaking) outdoor security cameras that connect to your phone?

Had a few car break-ins on my street the last month or so. Just being cautious.

The cheap ones all have the same chinese sensors. I have LUX brand at my house, which are said cheap cameras. The biggest difference IMO is aluminum housing vs. plastic for outdoors. I have had mine for 4 years now and only had one go out when lightning hit the house last year.

YI

You can get them from Amazon. $75 for the outdoor model. $30 for the indoor. We've been happy with both.

I've got a security camera question that might be worth tailgating on this thread. Are these recommended security cameras using a cloud hosted storage medium or locally hosted? If locally hosted, how much time in video footage do they allow you to store out of the box before overwriting/clearing old files? I'm looking to purchase a NAS this month and security cameras next year. I'd like to buy a set of products that work together.

The YI has both. But it's not storing everything 24/7. It will store what you watch live on the app and it will store X-seconds of video when it picks up motion. And you can configure the motion sensing area so that if you have it pointing the street, it won't pick up and record every car that drives by.

Thank you. Is there an option to store 27/4?

What are the best battery operated cameras ? I don't want to have to run power along the bricks or get a new outlet installed.

The DVR is the cheapest option for 24/7 recording.

I know the Synology NAS will also record from IP cameras. It's been a while since I've looked at that feature, but when I bought mine many years ago, it came with a license for 1 camera. Additional camera licenses are $50 each.

I have an Amcrest NVR which supports multiple brands of IP cameras. It has an app that allows my to look at live camera feeds and recorded video.

As far recording time goes, that depends on the number of cameras, and resolution they are set to record at. I would pick out the camera and see how large of files that it creates, the determine which hard drive you want.

The Western Digital purple line of hard drives are designed for security camera use.

LINK

The guy from gun talk mentioned these and you can get a % off by going through his website.

I'm considering. It was cheaper last week though.
