Curious as to what people have experienced in regards to bang for the buck. My PC specs out at top 10% for all other hardware specs, but the vid card drags down the gaming benchmark something fierce. That said, I'm not terribly interested in dropping $500+ on a video card. I was considering an RX 480 as I had a pretty good experience with my previous Raedeon card.

What are your PC specs and what resolution monitor do you use?

RX480 is the best card for gaming at 1080p. Any higher resolution youll have to go with a Nvidia card. 1070 for 2k ultrawide and solid VR performance, 1080 for 4k and top end VR.

RX 480 is the best bang for your buck GPU. It frequently goes on sale for <$200. Keep an eye on r/buildapcsales

your system could support any video card you wanted, but if you are running 1080p @ 60hz, there is little to no reason to buy anything other than a RX480 8GB.

Yeah, I'm not hardcore enough of a gamer to worry about getting a high end monitor as well. Glad to know that dropping a huge amount wouldn't be worth it.

Going to get an RX480 in a few weeks. Hopefully will see a massive improvement to my FPS afterwards.

The 580 is going to be released in less than two weeks. You might hold off and see what happens to 480 pricing. The 580 is really just a refresh.
