I currently have an iPad 2. 16gb and no cellular. My company will give me $500 towards a new one. I am thinking about getting a newest iPad. Are the newest ones worth getting as far as tech advancements and sustainability? I don't mind coming out of pocket for the difference if it is worth the investment. Or would it be better to get the previous version that is cheaper now and invest in the next iPad release? I mainly use mine to surf and play pointless games. I don't mind spending the money for the latest iPad, but my fear is that if I buy one this round, a significant tech upgrade will hit with the next version and my newest one will quickly become dated.

So basically is the newest one worth the investment or is a previous version pretty comparable to what the latest ones have to offer? Are there rumors that the next version will be significantly more advanced than the newest iPad?

I probably made that much more complex than it needed to be, but I hope you guys get my meaning.

For light use an iPad with 32 GB should suffice and is well within your budget.

Here's a link to the current offerings:

Get the new iPad. It's right under $500. That's how much you have to spend, right? Trust me, you don't need to spend more money if you're only doing apps and streaming.
