I finally pulled the trigger on Directv now which they were having a deal for a free apple TV 4k when you pay 4 months up front ($140 total).
I travel for work and have normally use a slingbox to watch baseball when I am out of region.
I am assuming that once I leave my home area that I won't be able to stream fox sports southeast or south with Directv now. I was trying to figure out if there would be a way to use a slingbox with an apple tv which would stream my directv now.
Is MLB tv my only real option?

I had good luck with r/nflstreams this year. I'm sure they have the same for MLB.
