Will a mSata ssd revitalize my 4 year old laptop enough to justify the $100 cost? Or should I just putit towards a new one.

It's a MSI Gp60

What are the rest of the specs? SSDs are the best possible performance boosters for PCs

Probably. It made a huge difference in my 4-year-old laptop. In fact, it felt like a new computer.

Yea you'll see an astronomical difference over that likely 5400rpm HDD

For sure. Head into task manager when the computer is under load and I can almost assure you that mem and cpu numbers will be low, but your hdd will be at 100%, showing to be the obvious bottleneck in your system.

Thanks. I'll try it, easier than buying another laptop

Well maybe not easier, but cheaper

It'll be super easy. A little time consuming if you're doing a clean windows install, but the installation of the actual drive itself will take about 30 seconds lol

1tb m.2 drives are like $100 now (I was lucky and got a 2tb for $106). If you do get one that large, I would remove the old hard drive completely

Samsung has a great migration tool. Most of the $100 m.2 drives do not have such tool

You're going to be amazed at the difference in moving from a hard disk drive to a solid state drive. It's similar to going from the bare minimum of RAM needed for Windows to something like 12 Gigs.

My boot time from pushing the Power button to being at the Windows login screen is somewhere around 10 seconds.
