iTunes purchases to Spotify

I’ve got roughly 1000 purchased songs on iTunes, but I’ve gotten frustrated with them lately because they don’t have artists full catalogs all of the time.
Thinking about switching all of my music purchases going forward to Spotify, but I don’t want to have all of my already purchased iTunes songs on one platform and my new purchases on another.

Is there a way to transfer all of my iTunes library to my Spotify library?
Many thanks!

Since you don't purchase music from Spotify, I don't see how you can "transfer" them to your library. You can find them on Spotify and add them though.

You could also build playlists in iTunes and import into Spotify.

Spotify is a streaming service. You don't purchase songs through them.

So in theory all of the songs you own via iTunes can be streamed through Spotify.

I think Spotify removed this option didn't they?

I used this a while back, but the option is gone. And when I go into the imported lists all of the tracks are greyed out.

You can add local file locations to Spotify, so maybe you'd be able to add your local itunes folder? Wouldn't do you any good for portability, I suppose.

I got this by clicking the ellipsis at the upper left of the Spotify app on my desktop --> Edit --> Preferences.

Obviously I don’t have Spotify (yet).
But if I were to get the paid for version, I pay a set amount each month and for that payment I get to add songs to my library that I “own” or have immediate access to, correct?

You don't lose all access, or has that changed?

I thought the main differences between paid and free accounts were no ads, the ability to download songs/playlists, and the option to not shuffle playlists on mobile.

you can play any of their music anytime on your devices.

What if a song comes on and I want to “save” it - there is that option to add it to a “library” correct?

yes.

As mentioned - pay the monthly fee. Get access to all of spotify music and podcasts. Can make unlimited amount of playlists & "save" songs that randomly play if you like them and want access to them later. Can also download playlists to your mobile device/tablet to have access to if you ever dont have wifi/internet service. If you ever end your service, you lose anything that you downloaded and certain site features (you'll no longer be ad free. And youll lose some playlist options mentioned earlier in this thread)

The Donald, I wonder if you can try this:

LINK

SongShift claims that you can transfer your library from Apple Music to Spotify. I guess it wouldn’t work if didn’t have Apple Music. Worth a shot.
