I'm deciding between these two. They are the perfect size for me and there are positives I love about both as well as negatives. I'm not tied to or against either ecosystem.

Tell me what to do please.

ps. No, I won't consider a Samsung. I've had one the last two years and I'm spent with their software. Still a solid phone though.

Well the pixel is the smarter phone. That's for sure. If you aren't tied to either ecosystem I'd go that route. Cheaper too. Better camera.

Google Assistant rocks. I think she sounds sexier than Siri too.

What about the recent speed test comparisons? iphone smoked pixel and it wasn't remotely close. Reports of apps like spotify having to close when taking pictures on the pixel too. I think these things are fixable with software updates but these are the things that make me go back and forth.

Pixel looks more fun and more smart. I like all of Google apps, especially the assistant. I don't really like Face ID. I'd rather finger print.

I wouldn't use a Pixel if someone gave it to me. The Iphone XS is the best phone on the market hands down.

Apple gets my vote because they are at least trying to give you some sort of privacy. Google and Android basically says your the product deal with it. As for Apple the device is their product.

Your fandom is showing. The fact that you wouldn't use the phone if it was given to you is a good reason to ignore your post entirely, but I'll play...

This is just an opinion but it should be fact given the price difference. Instead, both have same ram, Pixel has larger battery, and iPhone has better processor. Other manufacturers such as Huawei have recently released phones, albeit more in line with the max and xl variants that from a specs standpoint blows either phone out of the water.

Not even sure what you mean by this but if you think Google is the only one listening, you'd be mistaken.

I mean, no one can really answer that for you unless they understand what you value in a smart phone. Is the camera the most important thing? Speed/power? Battery life? The screen? The aesthetics and appearance of the device?

If it’s truly a wash and you can’t decide and you’re actually indifferent WRT ecosystem, maybe go with the pixel since it’s the least expensive

I currently own both.

Battery- iPhone XS. Not even close.

Camera- Pixel 3 by far.

Screen- iPhone XS seems to have less QA issues. Both are sharp. Close to a push.

Build Quality- IPhone XS. Holding both the stainless steel gives the iPhone a really premium feel. The pixel 3 feels flimsy.

Hardware- A12>SD845 on benchmarks. Real world you probably won’t notice. Still edge to iPhone XS.

Software- Subjective. Google apps always work better on the Pixel. Assistant is much better than Siri at dictation Android customization is amazing. Apple is clean, simple, and provides nice fine touches all over with their ecosystem like controlling Apple TV with watch. 3rd party apps tend to work better and get more refined support on iOS.
This one is a personal preference. I can’t decide hence I have both. Haha unlike the average apple sheep I use both platforms extensively and objectively give reasons why I like some aspects of iOS.

Where have you read this? Almost all reviews from the tech sites were very positive.

Lot of great reviews too. The pixel usually has a bunch of bugs that get discovered after launch but they're cleaned up within the first month. If you can wait 1-2 months it may save you a bit of early adopter headache.

But after the ironing out period it's really not debatable pixels have the best software experience in the market.

Apple wins the benchmarks every year yet you never can tell any difference in real world usage.

This is true. Pixels always seem to be rough around the edges the first month until software updates fix all of the found bugs.

I don't think it should affect someone's decision though. They always send out software update fixes quickly.

Sounds like a not so close iPhone win.

Good info ITT. Let me ask two questions.

1. Which ecosystem do you think is better?

2. Which will be the better phone in 4 years?

You should check out some of the things iOS can do with Shortcuts now. When I get in my car in the morning to take my kid to school I say, "Hey Siri, let's go to school."

My thermostat changes to its "Away" setting. My doors lock on my house. My garage door closes. My phone tells me how traffic is to her school and her music playlist starts playing.

I believe you. Any phone can do that. Google Assistant has superior AI. I don't know one tech specialist who even argues it at this point.

It does not and it's annoying but it's a legitimate selling point.
