Gotta good deal on Direct TV Choice - $73/mo. - paying for Disney +

Compared to Hulu Live and Disney + combo, it is about a $25 rate difference and less channels (that I don't watch anyway) with Hulu Live.

Outside of that, I'll miss my go-to NFL Network guys on Sunday mornings (but I'll still get the Thursday night game on Prime) and there is no NFL RedZone on either. The frackers at Direct TV have pissed me off (shoddy customer service that I can't understand and by dropping my NFL ticket, though I've been a subscriber for 17 years) that I'm ready to change.

One thing about Direct TV is that it is solid - hardly any interruption issues and my DVR holds a lot of shite. So, how is the actual service with Hulu Live? The 50 hours of recording? Any down times? Is paying extra for less commercials worth it?

Obviously my Netflix and Prime will have to be paid for regardless of those two. I get HBO with my phone and ATT - but I'm leaving after January when I pay my last iPhone payment. So, I'll probably drop that anyway. That is another thing that gets me - I did a buy one get one with ATT and if I pay off one, I only get a credit for the other monthly until it would have been paid off. If I leave, I have to pay for both phones. Frack them - gonna switch to Spectrum - who piggybacks Verizon.

I have DTV and the only other thing I can think of is delay.

That's been a hold up for us switching (plus we've got everything through AT&T so losing the discount will cut into any savings) - mostly due to sports.

But as long as you're not following game threads or twitter religiously it's probably fine.

As long as you have reliable internet, then it is fine. Like the other poster said, delay can play a factor with live sports. There has been a few times when I was watching a game and get a score change alert on my phone. After a while I learned to ignore but it was still annoying

Maybe the only thing I can think of is that there is no SECN Alternate channel so if a game hops over to it, you are screwed. But that damn near never happens.

i dont know about Hulu Live, but i had Directv for 10+ years, this time after not getting my Sunday ticket i dropped them and went with Youtube tv. it was the best decision i have made... 50 bucks a month unlimited DVR and i havent missed anything. Have Verizon so got the disney+ for a year. There is a small delay but mine isnt bad at all. i was on the phone with my buddy who has Directv and it was maybe 2 seconds behinds his. Good luck on your decision.

I just got an e-mail that Hulu Live is upping my rate from 50.99 to 60.99.

Seriously?

Sheesh. I was going to do the free trial today. I just noticed it says it moves to $54.99 in December.
