Are football games live or delayed? I was watching LSU this past weekend on Hulu at my in-laws. It was the first time I have ever seen hulu. However, while reading the scoreboard on TD while watching they were talking about things that hadn't happened in the game yet on our tv. Not sure if the FIL paused it or something at some point. Thanks.

All streaming services will be behind a live antenna broadcast and often behind a cable or satellite broadcast. The delay usually isn’t that big, sometimes 15-30 seconds, but if you’re communicating live with people using a faster source, you’ll notice being behind.

No, this was way behind. I was watching the first LSU series in the second half with Burrow playing and they were talking about Brennan playing.

Was it paused at anytime?

Like the other poster said regardless of platform streaming is usually about 15-30 seconds behind.

I guess it had to be. That is why I asked if it was significantly delayed. I am thinking about dumping uverse and getting hulu.

I really don't understand how this stuff works. How is hulu and roku different? Is there anyone willing to teach/help a dumbass? I wish I could get rid of ATT all together.

I find the delay is around 20 seconds. It usually works out to 1 play behind

Roku is a device used to run apps. Hulu is an app that runs on said device.

So, I would have to have roku (whatever that is) to run hulu? I have chromecast on my older tv.

You don't have to have a Roku. There are other devices such as the Apple TV and Amazon Firetv.

I watched it on SEC through Hulu and it was fine. They had to have paused it somewhere along the way.

I dumped direct tv & went with Hulu Live and honestly couldn’t be happier with my decision. 15-20 seconds behind saves me $100 a month. I’ll take that delay.

If you want to watch programming live, you need to select "live tv" at the top, then guide over to the program. This could be the culprit.

For example, if you set the game to record, it will later show up in the Hulu home menu because it is recording. If you click from the Hulu home menu, it will start the game from the beginning. Just remember - live tv for LIVE TV.

If you did use the Live TV selection, then it may have been paused at some point.

Good luck!

Mine likes to start from the beginning of the recorded game whenever I initially start watching. So if I had turned the game on in the second quarter, I’d have to hit JUMP TO LIVE to get it at the latest moment in the game.

I've had several of the streaming services pause without me ever hitting the PAUSE button. They just slow and time-out and then restart somewhere near the time-out mark. This is more prone to happen if you are surfing the internet with other tabs open or have more than one streaming service open at a time and are switching back and forth.

So, occasionally, click the LIVE button or the FFWD button on the stream of interest to make sure that you are watching the game at the most recent (live) point.
