Just signed up for a 2-year agreement with Dish Network and quickly found out that local ABC (WBRZ 2 Baton Rouge) has been blacked out for months with no end in sight.

Outside of cancelling Dish and going back to DTV or cable, I am looking for suggestions for the easiest way to be able to watch this channel both live and on demand. If that is rabbit ears so be it, but if there is some $10/month subscription service that's more convenient I'd be interested in that as well. TIA.

When I had dish you could hook up rabbit ears to your stb's and get locals with out dealing with the disputes.

See if you boxes still have antenna inputs.

Forgive my ignorance, stb's?

I'm currently watching youtube videos on setting up an OTA antenna... Looks like I will need a USB adapter to plug into the back of my Hopper. Same concept?

Set top box

I have a Hopper 3 and use the dish USB OTA adapter. Really simple to use and integrates directly into the guide, just like another channel.

Looking online seems like they run 60 bucks or so. I got one directly from dish for like 30, but that was probably 5 years ago

once you cut the cord its hard to ever go back.

I cut the cord a few years ago. Saved some money but the user interface and convenience just sucked compared to satellite/cable (I tried PS Vue and Sling).

Went back 2 years ago when AT&T/DTV had a solid 2 year intro pricing offer.. 2 years are up and it's back to the pissing match.

Direct tv fighting with Fox 44.

Seems like the season to fight it out before football starts.

The local NBC station is blocked on DirecTV here. I am able to stream live NBC via their app on my Firestick. It requires I use my DirecTV account to authorize but works despite the blackout.

Check to see if ABC has a similar app.
