If you come from a fairly strong math background MIT open courseware is a great starting point. Computer science is a subject where you just can't dive in and really understand it. You have to start simple and learn the building blocks.

So are looking to just drop in some input and get out some sick beats and artwork? If so you can probably do that with a tutor....if you are looking to build those applications then you will probably need the training and some experience.

Get in there and play with the stuff that interests you. A tutor will be of very limited value for you.
