Getting rid of DirecTV

I would like to get rid of Directv because the price has gotten to be ridiculous. What is the best option to be able to watch local channels as well as not miss out on football games and baseball games as well. I have 2 older Apple TV boxes and I am not sure that they are able to function to the capacity that I want. I mainly use ATV to watch the ESPN3 app and Netflix. I saw Hulu has a $39.99 package for 2 room with local channels and several other channels and sports as well. Anyone have experience with Hulu TV? What would the Tech board recommend? for watch TV at home and keeping the price reasonable.

Not really what you're looking for, but I dropped DirecTv last year and got Dish for $40 a month less with all the same basic channels and added HBO.

I dropped DirecTV, went with PSVue for $45 a month.
OTA Antenna for locals.
Have Netflix (through my brother, he offered it) and HBO Now $15 a month.
So that puts me a $60 a month for everything. I have never not been able to watch something I wanted to watch.

Go to DirectTv Now if you're with AT&T. $10 a month and free HBO if you have unlimited data, yes please.

If you just want to reduce your bill, call directv, ask for retention and tell them you're thinking about canceling and you want to see what discounts they can offer.
I just got $45/month off for 12 months, Sunday ticket, 6 months HBO and 4 months Showtime for agreeing to a 12 month contract.

Call and tell them you are cancelling because of cost. They will reduce your bill.

I actually went to Att Uverse and when I called to cancel DTV, they gave me Sunday Ticket free and $77/month for the upgraded package with 5 boxes. I was paying 170 before.
Att has better pricing but lower quality picture. I will keep the att internet tho.
