I'm tech challenged beyond belief and google really isn't of help and neither is my family.

I'm trying to scan some things to email but I keep getting a message saying that I need to be connected to the server.

I've restarted the printer, computer, router, modem. IDK what else to do.

**working from desktop

Scan to your PC then attach it to an email from there.

Scan to email will require you to enter SMTP settings that, no offense, sound like you won't understand.

No offense taken ... tried to do that and I get "make sure the scanning software has been installed" ... it's been installed and I haven't changed anything. Like Nothing.

Appreciate you trying to help.

What brand/mode all-in-one (assume)? May need to have the specific device software so that it can scan to your computer. For example, my AIO has a quick setting to scan to a folder on my NAS, therefore anyone has access to it as needed from within home.

I was able to be taught how to scan from an iPhone. I’m 51 but feel so so so very old.

Appreciate your help.

Where is your printer connected? Router or desktop?

install software for the printer.

during the process, the printer will learn your local network info.

I doubt you want to connect your printer to the internet, just your local network (home, office, etc).
