AT&T Walmart Phone

My teenage son lost his iPhone and I refuse to buy him another. I told him he would need to buy his own, so he needs a cheap alternative. Is there a phone at Walmart that he could buy and then I can take it to AT&T to get a sim card to make it work? I see they have all sorts of smartphones from $40 on up from straight talk, cricket, etc., but I don't know which one would work, if any.

Lol! I just didn't know if those phones would work on normal phone plans or just with those calling cards they sell.

Any unlocked phone would work. Also I believe the AT&T Go Phone's should work without any issue.

Go buy an att gophone at walmart and put a sim card in it. good to go.

Yeah I tried that but the phone battery was dead when he lost it. It just shows the last location, which we already knew.
I got a $49 AT&T prepaid phone at Walmart today and brought it to the AT&T store and they programmed the sim to his phone number for me.

The only reason he even got that is so I can keep in touch with him and he's home alone sometimes. It sure wasn't so he can keep up with snapchat.
