Fiber isn’t available in my area of course. Trying to sell me 6mbps when I have 25 with cox now. I think I’m really gonna regret it because 6 is basically useless.

Why would you consider going from 25 to 6??

I have cox now and other than internet speed I would have more dvr’s with direct tv same channels and it’s $130 a month cheaper. I’m not interested in just 6 mbps I want more but that’s all they offer I’m my area. The question I’m trying to figure out if the internet is suitable. I’ve been spoiled with cox for the past 10 years so I’m not sure what I would need as for as mbps.

What do you do with your internet? I'm not sure why they're so aggressive on the internet side if you're already doing the tv. I really would not recommend going down to 6 mbps however.

Keep Cox At&t will probably try to convince you 6mbps is faster than 25b (they actually told me their 45mbps was somehow faster than Cox 150.).

But, if they ever put Fiber in your area, go for it.

In my experience my only positive with AT&T has been that 1gb fiber i have now Other than that if you have other options i would go with that other than at&T.

I have ATT "GigaPower". Upload speeds are eye-popping.

What’s your internet need? Full household with streaming? 6mbps won’t work.

Single person, minimal, non 4K streaming, no intense downloading, 6mbps would be sufficient.

I'm pleased with the 24 mbps service from AT&T. No real issues to complain about.

If fiber isn't available you're better off getting cable.

If anyone has the ATT fixed wireless internet for rural areas that they are introducing in some locations I would like to know how it is working for you.

Impossible question to answer. Every internet provider, the device changes house by house

For me , I have 1GB with AT&T and it's great

So this thread made me go check my ATT packages and I saw that I'm somehow able to get 1000 mbps at my address. I'm confused because I haven't seen them lay the orange tubes down on my street, yard, area in general in New Orleans.

I signed up for it for an additional 30$ a month and they're supposed to come do the installation this Saturday. Couple of questions:

A) Is this possible? Anyone else tried this in the New Orleans area?
B) What equipment is involved? I currently have the latest big arse black router they have and am on the 50 mbps speed.
C) If this is true and I can get 1000 mbps speed. What should I be getting Down/Up on the 2ghz and 5ghz channels?
