Mine increased by $5 from the already high price it was. I want to switch to AT&T but I’ve never used it before. The max I can get at my house is 18mbps. I have Cox’s highest tier now but it’s overkill and their lower tiers aren’t that much lower in cost. We stream everything so would 18mbps with AT&T be good enough for two devices streaming at the same time?

Streaming is usually 6mbps. My parents have 18 mbps and I've never noticed any issues with it on a couple tv's.

ATT UVerse DSL is much slower and will disconnect multiple times a day. I experienced it for 6 months while dislocated from the flood. Cox is worth the extra moneh

It really depends on the quality of the equipment in your area, and whether or not they give a frick about you and your service. In my experience, AT&T doesn't give a frick about a lot of areas.

I've had AT&T internet, first dsl then uverse, in downtown Nola for nearly 7 years. In that time, I've had issues that I remember twice. Once, they sent someone out on a Sunday to fix it. It helped, but I ended up buying a separate router and that solved my issues. Another time, they were doing work in the area and it affected my connectivity briefly early in the a.m. for a couple of mornings. I read about Cox outages often, but my AT&T has been reliable. And I'm a cord cutter with 18mbps. My location downtown probably helps.

Yes my ATT internet service disconnects a couple+ times a week, that I know of.. I had 18mps and it was fine for streaming my one device at a time. I had a deal for the 18mps and it ended. Made a call and was upgraded to 25mps for $60.89 (final price). I haven't gotten my first bill so that price remains to be seen. If it is passed $65.00 I will call and complain.

I had at&shite for about 2 years. Constantly was getting disconnected, and I wasn't streaming anything, just work on my laptop.
I pay more for cox and I don't care. I'll never go back to at&shite for anything b/c I don't like them as a company.

The people we were staying with hated Cox because they had to bring rental equipment back to the office after cancellation.

The horror.

Great people, especially for hosting the five of us for five months, but I couldn't convince them to get Cox in the house even if I paid for it :)

If you can get att fiber drop Cox and don't look back. If you cannot get fiber but only the att slower speed dsl then don't bother.

I appreciate all the responses. I lowered my speed with Cox to lower my bill. I should be moving in a few months so I’ll revisit my options then.

Not with Fiber. ATT is a different product altogether with fiber vs uverse dsl. Fiber is much better than Cox.

60 dollars for 100mb/s up and down att fiber VS 76.99 with Cox for 50 down and maybe 10 up.

I pay $79.99 for 300/30 with cox, and ATTs speeds are shite in most of BR. For "fiber", 100mbs up/down is terrible.

No but my fricking data exceeded for the first time the FIRST month after the "probation" period. Coincidence? I think Not!

For all usage above 100% of your plan, Cox automatically provides you with additional blocks of 50 Gigabytes (GB) for $10 per block. It has to be related to cord cutting. Because they aren't offering any improvements in their tier speeds.

Which provider is offering this? Cox quoted me $85 for 50mbs.
