Looking for reviews. Having too many reliability issues.

I'm on the MS coast.

I do and I'm in New Orleans. I recently downgraded to the 18mb/s plan and wirelessly using speakeasy speedtest, I still somehow get 23-24mb/s. I had just downgraded from their 45mb/s package so maybe they haven't taken something off but I like it.

Other gripe about their reliability but I've never had any issues.

I'm out in the boonies, but I have Uverse internet and it's hit or miss.

One day, i'll have 6 Mbps down and things run smooth-ish. Another day, I'll barely scratch 1 Mbps and have to do a full reset.

reliability issues

I've had it for 3 years and while the speeds are generally ok (testing at or near 24mbps) reliability is a concern. We routinely (1-2 times a month) have to reset the box while streaming Netflix/Hulu/etc. ATT techs have come out and replaced hardware, rewired the connection, and we still have intermittent service.

ETA: Located in BR.

I had U-Verse in Texas for 3 years and loved it. Never had issues and the speed was always consistent. I moved to Colorado a few months ago and got Comcast. I have the 150mbps plan and I never come close. The speed is up and down and I usually get around 15-30mbps. There is no U-Verse in Colorado

I had this problem with Comcast in Atlanta several times a week.

When Microsoft updates offered up an update for my Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Network Adapter, I did the following steps.

Control Panel
System
Device Manager
Network Adapters
Right click on "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller"
Left click on Properties
click on Power Management
unclick "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Since I have a desktop, there is no need to turn off the network controller card. This feature should be enabled on a laptop to save battery life.

I have not had any disconnects since I made this change.

See if this helps.

Thanks for all the feedback. They replaced the outside line. Hopefully that fixes it. Uverse is a one year contract and I wouldn't want to be stuck with them if they're no better.

I have Uverse internet and TV. It cuts out a few times a week, sometimes a few times a day for a few minutes them starts working again. Very frustrating. Only reason I still have it is for the wireless boxes for cable.
